The 18th Century Louis XV Period mirror has a carved rectangular wooden frame with a molded outer edge. The inner edge of the Rococo frame is asymmetrical having a bottom horizontal convex molding extending to the two outer corners of the frame then forms two s-shaped vertical curves on each side with two more s-shaped horizontal curves at the crown. Trailing foliage vines ornament the continuous curves of the frame getting more condensed at the top where a coquillage adorns the crown. Coquillage carvings also accent the four corners of the frame in order to conceal the joinery. There is visible oxidation and crystallization to the mirror glass.
